.

TUMBLR

.

Although you may already feel overwhelmed by the growing number of social media sites, free micro-blogging platform Tumblr can be a powerful tool for spreading awareness about your brand. Founded in 2007 by David Karp, Tumblr serves both as a blog and social network that’s useful for posting and sharing images, video, audio or short pieces of writing.

Here is how to use Tumblr to bring sells to your online store:

Create your Tumblr account, choose a Tumblr Name and Specific Theme for your business. It’s just a simple sign up process of your Tumblr account.

Once you done with it, Start adding your product contents and start tagging. As a micro-blogging platform, Tumblr is a lightweight platform that let’s you add content almost as quickly and seamlessly as writing a tweet on Twitter.

.

Simply select the icon describing the type of content you want to add and you’re good to go.

.

.

When you upload a photo of product, write some interesting description about it, targeting some long tail keywords for your product name & other information, put the link of the product page of your online store and don’t forget to pick up the Tags that are best and related to product you are sharing.

It is advisable that you shouldn’t use more than 7 to 12 tags on Tumblr. Not only does it seem to bring in the most optimal number of traffic to your blog, but any more is considered spamming.

.
TWITTER

.

Twitter is used by 325 million users. That means you can easily reach your targeted group through a single platform. Also, if you use Twitter properly, then it helps you to increase your reach, engage with your customers and grow your brand. Twitter is definitely great for an eCommerce & online selling business.

Your objective on Twitter is to make sales. For this you need to establish trust by building a strong brand image. Your Twitter profile is a great place to start your branding activities.

.

Consider below points while creating your Twitter Business Profile:

– Twitter Account Name – Use your company name. If it’s not available, add a number at the end. But try to keep it simple and easy to remember.

– Profile Picture – Use your company’s logo as the profile picture.

– Header Image – Use an image of your products, try to show your services with it.

– Bio – Twitter gives you 160 characters to describe yourself/your business. Use this space wisely. Without being too fancy, describe in clear words what your business is all about.

– Location – For e-commerce and online selling websites, location often matters. So mention it clearly on your profile.

.

Now, It’s time for Twitting. Each Tweet has only 140 characters, but it still involves a lot of science in driving engagement (ReTweets, Replies, and Favorites) on Twitter.

.

.

Tweets with images and visual content get almost 200% more attraction of users.

.

And that’s perfect for us. Upload your product photos, put some information including Product Link, Product Name, Hash Tags etc.

[TIP for Tweet Timing: Tweets between 9AM – 6PM get the highest engagement on weekdays.]

Reply to tweets about your business, whether they are positive or negative, and do so quickly (within 24 hours). You can like and Re-tweet positive messages, thank those who praise you, and address critical tweets in a helpful, respectful manner.

.

INSTAGRAM

.

The use of Instagram is not limited to large brands. Smaller E-commerce merchants can also take advantage of its benefits. The problem with Instagram is that it’s hard to turn it into a sales channel, as it doesn’t make it easy to link to other websites. So, consider simply adding links in your descriptions. Instagram might not recognize these but as long as you make certain that they’re sufficiently short for people to easily transport them over to new windows that will only be a slight inconvenience.

Create a community for your business. Try to increase awareness of your products and online store as much as possible.

Showcase your products. It may be boring for an E-commerce brand to showcase its products on its feed, but a creative display can make it very appealing.

A great way to get attention for your product is to use them in real-life settings and then post those pictures onto Instagram, thereby giving users an idea of how your product should be used and how it would look on them. Yes, these can be completely staged, but by giving the illusion of authenticity users will often feel that a product has been social proofed far more than in a traditional advertisement campaign.

.

.

Including Hash Tags is a great way to attract people from all over the world to your account business page.

.
