5 Reasons Why Your Content Strategy Is Useless

.

I may sound like a nerd saying your content strategy is useless without even verifying your stats and how you are performing on internet.

Only 6 to 7% of marketers actually have a strategy and that is why they succeed. Why 94% marketers are failing every now and then and why you land in the same category will define the next few lines of this article.

Prepare yourself for the checklist.

I am sure every content marketer knows that Bill Gates said in January, 1990 as “Content is the King”. Yeah true to a great extent and he is really a superman for any entrepreneur in this world.

Well content is just not enough in this era because approximately 2 billion posts are being published every day and by reaching to next paragraph in this article approximately 90 people already published their blog posts.

So how to win in this cut throat competition of content.

I also failed many times unable to find why my content is not working and why people don’t love it.

Took time and analyzed these 5 important things that complete your content strategy.

.

.

1. Content Strategy

.

Before writing even a single word you should think why you are writing this content masterpiece. What are your goals that this article or post will achieve directly or indirectly. Does it stand in your content strategy for the web anywhere?

Setting goals can help you get the right keyword and right targeting for the right audience.

I write about Digital Marketing and Entrepreneurship stuff at my blog and also offers a free Digital marketing course for anyone who visits and you will find my content around the specific keyword. Your strategy should come at first place and should be there till the desired results.

.

.

2. Context

.

Context here refers to the theme around your content. Here many content strategy marketers fall behind.

In order to get traffic, people start to write off topic articles which are trending and optimize their keywords relatively.

Well the results this content strategy drives is short term based and you will end up getting low CTR because traffic came for a different niche and you are offering something else that may not interest them and ultimately your goal will get affected.

.

.

3. Content

.

Yes you’re “content is the king” as it drives results for your specific strategies. Writing something unique every day is not just helping in reaching specific goals also set you apart from the crowd and position you as an influencer when you are consistent with your writing.

Seth Godin do micro-blogging almost daily on Typepad and we all love his intense purest thoughts.

Write your content that revolves around your audience and same time shouldn’t deflect you from the goal. It should be natural. You should make your audience and google happy by ensuring an SEO checklist for new sites.

.

.

4. Content Distribution

.
Think of Hubspot, Neil Patel or Techcrunch if they didn’t shared their content on other sources or on social media channels. They must have not known to you. You can write better content than them but you don’t have strategy and distribution channels they already took benefits from.

Whenever you write a post, do share it to the social media and start to create backlinks so that people and search engines should know that you wrote a piece of content which solves a genuine problem.

If people love it and share it at their end, search engines take it as a vote of confidence and rank you higher in particular keyword search you wrote your content around.

.

.

5. Analytics

.

Think this way, you jotted down your thoughts and distributed everywhere on internet right after publishing on your own medium and you don’t know how many people read it or shared it or even liked it.

You will end up demotivating yourself soon because you don’t know what results it gets or your audience actually liking it or not.

Install analytics on your blog or website and do a thorough analysis on what people like or what they don’t.

Improve the pages or links and resubmit to rank better and enjoy the fruits of success.

.

.

Conclusion

.

When I started writing 8 years back, I had no knowledge about any of the content strategy for the web above and it took years to learn what my audience and search engines love.

Always focus on the purpose of your content and if your content doesn’t solve any real problem, stop right there and find your purpose of writing.

Do comment below how you drive your content strategy and I will update it for better experience.
